ART CITY PROJECT POLICY
We are committed to winning together and look for a win-win relationship with our customers. We have implemented the following guidelines to allow to achieve this win-win relationship.
Deposits
A deposit of 50% to start the project with the remaining 50% due upon completion of the project. Projects will not be released for pick up or shipping until payment is made in full.
Estimates
Estimates given are typically very close to final pricing. However, at times unforeseen elements can appear within a project scope. Some examples include:
- Insufficient dimensions and pictures given at the time of estimating.
- Change orders with the project (removable parts, adding a metal base, adding inscriptions in metal, patina color changes, engineering or structural additions, etc.)
- Timing of estimates to actual production start times. All estimates are valid 90 days. After this time, we may need to look at current bronze pricing and other associated costs to adjust estimates accordingly.
Shipping and Pick Up
We prefer to deal with our customers only. We have found it to be effective, if there’s a shipping or damage issue, to work with one customer. Also, for invoicing purposes, we prefer sending shipping invoices to you, our customer.
Some of our customers request shipping estimates. Because we work through thirdparty shippers and shipping prices are not fixed pricing, we cannot be held responsible for giving shipping estimates that come in higher than estimated. We do understand that our customers want an idea of what to charge their customers for billing purposes. Contacting shippers and collecting required information is time-consuming so while we do prefer customers set up their larger projects (crates, monuments, etc.), we can contact several shippers for estimates.
It is the responsibility of our customer to provide essential information for delivery. Any omitted information or incorrect information can disrupt product delivery (such as traffic, hours of operation, door size, driveway size, appointment times, business hours, truck size, how to offload). We ask as many questions as our experience has taught us to ask but cannot be responsible for all possible shipping scenarios.
We have an on-site crate-maker with many years of experience. His/her function is to create a crate with proper bracing and padding to protect your sculpture. Please be prepared to un-crate your sculpture with several helping hands. During shipment, there’s a chance a sculpture will shift. Removing braces can cause the sculpture to fall
out unexpectedly.
If you do notice ANY damage while uncrating, please stop immediately and take photos, not just of the sculpture, but of the crate, supports, and packing materials and contact us. Without photos or shipping materials, we cannot make a claim against the shippers for reimbursement (They will not know where the problem occurred if they can’t see the intial problem. The problem could be in the shipping or in the un-crating/sculpture placement without extensive documentation). Email notification is best for us to make a claim and continue follow-up with the shippers.
When picking up: please bring proper padding (shipping blankets, etc.), boxes, totes, bubble wrap, etc. needed to transport your piece safely. We cannot be held responsible for damage in transport to sculptures. We are happy to help load up your car but are not liable if something becomes damaged during that process.
